so are we just not going to talk about the ban

Restarts, loot tables, vehicles, complaints about all three.

so are we just not going to talk about the ban

i've been turning over the field incident since the 22:10 restart, and the more I think about it the more I think the problem wasn't the blood bag itself. It was that nobody had said what the fallback was when a bag ran out. we had four people standing in a circle while Pete went grey, all of us waiting for someone else to make a call. compare that with how the shoreline session went — nobody shot at anyone all night because the expectation was set before anyone spawned in. that didn't happen by accident. If we're going to run a busy server, we need the same thing for medicals: state the plan, then run the plan. Otherwise every field incident becomes a fresh debate. this isn't aimed at anyone in particular, before the thread gets heated. i know some people think this is overthinking it, but I'd rather be boring and alive.

Grud's right about the difference between the two sessions. The shoreline one had a decision made before anyone was in the water; the field incident had four people waiting on a bag that wasn't there. I still think about the AS50 in the north barracks and how forty seconds was enough to lose it to a zombie. You can't plan for everything,

For what it's worth, I don't think this thread needs to pick a side. the shoreline session worked because the expectation got set before anyone spawned; the field incident didn't have that. i heard the bus-with-no-windscreen run had the same shape — someone said 'east road, slow', everybody grumbled, and it somehow worked. If a stated fallback means feewr people standing in a circle while someone goes grey, I don't mind either way.

I read these threads every time they happen and I don't post because there's nothing to add. This one keeps sitting with me. Grud's right that the shoreline session worked because someone stated the plan first. The Cherno firehouse thing seemed funny when I first heard about it, and then it wasn't, and I think the field incident went the same way. Nobody wants to make the call because if it goes wrong it's on them. That's the part I don't know how to fix. I wasn't at the field incident — I heard about it the same way I heard about the AS50 in the north barracks. Both of those stories get told like they were inevitable. They weren't. Anyway. Back to lurking.

i wasn't at the field thing, just caught it in the restart chatter. four people standing around trying not to be the first one to say the bag was empty.

That's the whole thing isn't it — nobody wants to be the one who says it out loud, becaues then if it goes wrong it's on them. The Green Mountain dare went the other way: rabbit said he was going, and nobody argued. For what it's worth, I reckon it starts with someoen just saying 'that bag's empty' before anyone's grey. I don't mind either way, but it

lithh, that's closer to the actual problem than most of the thread. Nobody wanted to be the first to say the bag was empty, and I herad the same thing about Green Mountain afterwards — everyone let rabbit go up alone because saying 'there's nothing there' out loud felt like taking a side. A stated fallback only works if someone is willing to own it before anyone's grey. I don't know that a thread gets us there.
