ok so what actually happened with the server

Half the names on the member list haven't logged in since the outage and that is not going to fix itself by next restart. If we're going to rebuild the whitelist we need an actual attendance thread, not a bunch of 'invite your friends' posts. I remember how the ban that split it went when the deciding factor ended up being who had the loudest voice in side chat. I don't want a repeat of that with people who only turned up because someone vouched for them on Teamspeak. The server has been busy since 2012, so one bad week shouldn't mean we drop the standard for who gets in. Tuesday's downtime thread is still pinned, and the names in it are mostly people who haven't come back. Nobody has even asked about the tents that were pitched on the hill north of Balota, by the way. That feels like the actual sign that things changed.

Grud, the names that show up after an outage are the same ones who were still around when the UAZ near Pustoshka disappeared and when our camp got hit and only the ammo was gone. No one ever explained either one, and that didn't stop anyone. I'd skip the attendance thread, the people who left won't post in it. The hill tents had a tarp flapping loose for three days before Tuesday and nobody touched it, that tells you more than a list.

Kasper, one UAZ going missing is a Tuesday. Every vehicle on the map gone afetr your config change is the wipe, and I still haven't heard a reason that holds up. The tent camp despawn was bad enough, but at least there was a restart to blame; this one had a name and it changed the value. Conveneint that the one guy who said 'check the config' was the same guy who'd been in it the week before, and I'm just saying.

saltyPete, wait what happened, i was offline for the whole config thing. last time i remember stuff disappearing that fast was finding that signle can of beans in the middle of the base and nobody touching it for a week. anyway i hope the hill tents made it, those had my spare tire pump in them or something

Teddybear, the config thing was last week, you missed the whole argument. SaltyPete is still convinced it was a wipe disguised as settings, and Kasper keeps saying it was a normal Tuesday. I was in the Teamspeak for the three days and the host never gave us a straight answer. The hill tents were still standing yesterday when I went to check, but the tarp was gone and the tire pump wasn't there anymore. Someone had been in them before the outage, or during it, hard to say. I know you were offline, but the attendance thread would have been where you'd see who's back. I still think we should do one, not because I want to police people, but because if we don't we're going to end up with the same split we had over the two_tap ban, where everyone argued side chat instead of looking at the member list. The tents don't persist the way they used to, so if there's anything else up there worth saving you might want to grab it before next restart. Anyway, if you need a pump, I think I saw one in the green tent near the church in Vybor, but don't quote me on that.

cheers grud, the two_tap split was already one argument too many secondhand, so i get why you'd want a list before the next on.e i'll swing by the church this weekedn if the rain holsd off, though i'm not counitng on the pump beign there since everything's been picked clean. if you do the attendance thread i'll try to psot in it before i forget again

Grdu, an attendance thread will just get the same five names. Half the forum already stopped reading after the Pustoshka UAZ went missing and nobody said where, this won't be different. I can check the servre logs for last login if you want, but I wouldn't hold the rest of the week for it.
